Examining Southeast Asia’s Diplomacy on Nuclear Disarmament and Nuclear Security: Shared Norms and a Regional Agenda

Member-states of the Association Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) support norms nuclear disarmament and security through diplomatic efforts at global level regional to promote safety security. This is demonstrated in how ASEAN helped push for negotiation Treaty on Prohibition Nuclear Weapons (TPNW) its eventual passage, as well ongoing cooperation advancing safety. Regional frameworks mechanisms like Network Regulatory Bodies Atomic Energy (ASEANTOM), Forum, East Asia Summit provide platforms advance diplomacy promoting governance.
